About the role
The Maintenance Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, PLCs, control panels, and power distribution equipment.
- Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging tools.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Install and troubleshoot industrial automation systems, including sensors, VFDs, and relay logic.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, new installations, and plant expansion projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an industrial or manufacturing electrician.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including 3 phase power, control circuits, and automation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and industrial automation equipment.
- Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
- Understanding of NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-demand environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to run and install conduit.
- Knowledge of Arm Flash and Arc blast. Understands the dangers associated with it and how to read Arc flash labels.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or technical program preferred.
- State or journeyman electrician license (strongly preferred).
- 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing electrical experience.
Working conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and around industrial machinery.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
Pay
The range for this position is $28.00 hourly rate - $32.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
