About the role

The Maintenance Electrician performs complex technical work in the installation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, and related electro-mechanical systems. This position also inspects and tests elements of electrical systems to locate and diagnose faults and malfunctions, performs required repairs through replacement of inoperative parts or re-wiring of circuits, and provides an estimate of repair or replacement costs beyond the capability to perform.

Responsibilities

  • Performs electrical work in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, and related electro-mechanical systems.
  • Inspects and tests elements of electrical systems to locate and diagnose faults and malfunctions.
  • Performs required repairs through replacement of inoperative parts or re-wiring of circuits in accordance with applicable Electrical Industry Codes.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and follows established safety procedures.
  • Follows all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.
  • Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certification or equivalent experience in electrical field required.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of current OSHA, NEC, and ANSI standards.
  • Must be able to interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Must be able to use electrical test equipment and small hand and power tools.
  • Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment with accuracy and integrity.
  • Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

  • With Or Without Reasonable Accommodation Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and safely operate tools and equipment.

Skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
