About the role
Armstrong World Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support manufacturing operations at our plant in Marietta, PA. The plant manufactures mineral fiber ceiling tiles in a 24/7 fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the plant meets its key performance metrics and goals for safety, quality, throughput, delivery and cost.
Responsibilities
- Installing conduit and wirings, motors, instrumentation, recording devices, starters, and temporary wiring setups
- Performing preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical devices and other manufacturing equipment such as conveyor systems, chart recorder, labeling equipment including POD and ink jet (e.g. VideoJet) equipment, servo motors and systems
- Diagnosing electrical problems and malfunctions and taking corrective action
- Maintaining and repairing plant instrumentation
- Developing wiring diagrams as necessary
- Using precision instrumentation such as voltmeter, ammeter, megger, wattmeter, etc.
- Maintaining, repairing, testing and calibrating instrumentation and equipment of various types including flow meters, thermocouples, HMI, laboratory control instruments, loop controllers, PLC and process control and related networks, page phones, radios, and various other forms of electrical / electronic equipment.
- Completing record and inventory of supplies necessary to perform jobs.
- Maintaining personal work tools.
- May be called upon to initiate, lead and design small projects as directed.
- Perform other related miscellaneous duties as required to maintain or improve plant reliability.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least six (6) years of relevant electrical experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of all current and voltage characteristics (such as single phase, 3 phase, 110v, 220v, 440, 12.5kv and d.c. voltage), solid state circuitry and programmable controllers.
- Experience using precision instrumentation such as voltmeter, ammeter, megger, wattmeter and repairing, maintaining, testing and calibrating instrumentation and equipment of various types (flow meters, thermocouples, HMI).
- Able to work with various PC programs and operating systems.
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and other applicable safety and industry codes expected.
Desired qualifications
- Journeyman certification in electrical trade is highly desired.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP system.
Pay
Ranging from $37.60/hr to $42.76/hr with opportunity to progress.
Schedule
Four crew 12 hour shift rotation which includes weekends and overtime.
