Responsibilities
- Inspect electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code.
- Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
- Repair electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, and other components so that they remain fully functional in a production environment.
- Test systems with devices such as voltmeters, mergers, and ohmmeters to ensure the system remains safe and that components are compatible.
- Review blueprints to understand the wiring to troubleshoot component problems.
- Provide suggestions on the lifespan of equipment and other electrical components, advising when certain components should be replaced due to potential risks.
- Keep records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including a record of any supplies ordered and used.
- Ensure all routine maintenance work is handled on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of larger and more complex issues and to reduce costs.
Qualifications
- Two or four-year degree in EE or EET or three to five years equivalent experience.
- PLC experience – preferably Allen Bradley, some Siemens a plus – minimum one year.
- Four hundred eighty volts three-phase power experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
- NFPA 70 (NEC) & 70E (electrical safety) familiarity.
- Industrial manufacturing experience a plus.
- Arc flash training a plus.
- Previous experience in electrical engineering or other related fields.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in customer service.
- PLC troubleshooting skills.
- Electrical schematics and troubleshooting skills.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Hydraulics experience.
- PLC programming experience.
- PLC wiring experience.
- Machine safety inspections.
