Maintenance E&I Technician - Experienced in primary crafts

What You Will Do

The E&I Technician position for the maintenance team at the Cypress Bend location, is responsible for maintaining machinery throughout the mill to ensure efficient operations and decreased unscheduled machine downtime.

An experienced E&I Technician is already certified in one or more of our primary electrical crafts and can demonstrate skills immediately. We have an immediate need for a qualified skilled electrical and/or instrumentation technician to join our team, in addition to other qualified E&I Technicians.

  • Proficiently perform at least one (1) of the recognized primary electrical crafts and act as a knowledgeable helper in all other recognized primary crafts including:
  • Electrical
  • Instrumentation
  • HVAC
  • Pipefitter
  • Millwright
  • Machinist
  • Welder
  • Auto/Diesel Mechanic
  • Change out equipment
  • Safely operate a variety of tools (power, machine shop, gasoline powered, hand tools, etc.)
  • Safely operate company vehicles including forklift, overhead crane, clamp truck
  • Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE, safe driving practices, proper lifting techniques, etc.)
  • Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause
  • Operate, maintain, and inspect equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, procedural reporting, and documentation requirements

What You Will Need

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
  • An Associates degree in Electro/mechanical Technology or Industrial Maintenance highly desired
  • A minimum of 5 years continuous work experience in a high-speed manufacturing, production, industrial, or labor-intensive work environment as a maintenance mechanic preferred
  • Certified in one or more of the site's recognized primary electrical crafts
  • Able to demonstrate skills and perform work proficiently on his/her own in certified primary crafts
  • Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)
  • Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
  • Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance
  • Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid
  • Able to work a 10-12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays
  • Able to work overtime as needed
