Valley View Manor is seeking a dependable and experienced Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance, safety, and overall physical plant operations of our long-term care community in Lamberton, Minnesota.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily maintenance operations of the facility, including building systems, grounds, and equipment.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to healthcare facility maintenance and safety.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and address repair needs promptly.
- Manage work orders and maintenance requests from staff and departments.
- Oversee life safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, emergency generators, and safety drills.
- Coordinate and supervise outside contractors and service providers.
- Maintain documentation for inspections, maintenance logs, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage maintenance budgets and order necessary supplies and equipment.
- Ensure the grounds, parking areas, and building exterior are maintained and safe year-round.
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and facility safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous maintenance leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, long-term care, or facilities management.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Experience with life safety codes and regulatory compliance in healthcare settings is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform hands-on repairs when needed.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to urgent maintenance issues.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of Minnesota Department of Health regulations related to long-term care facilities.
- Certification in boiler operation, HVAC, or facilities management is a plus.
