About the Role
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance department to ensure environmental center compliance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances, regulations, and building codes. Maintain the center in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition, ensuring it is in good repair and free from hazards related to electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems. Oversee the provision of quality laundry service.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all Environmental Services personnel and daily work in assigned areas to enhance service levels while controlling expense budgets, staffing, and resolving interdepartmental and personnel issues.
- Process and maintain records of accounts payable, supplies received, equipment maintenance, and other department business.
- Execute the Company’s preventive maintenance program and record-keeping systems to maintain the center at its highest level of physical function.
- Develop and maintain a center profile and physical plant history, including complete documentation of all maintenance activities, replacement parts, materials used, and fuel supply records.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair work in compliance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances, regulations, and building codes.
- Collaborate with residents, nurses, physicians, department leaders, and other staff regarding environmental services requests, infection prevention, service resolution, and interdepartmental matters.
- Provide timely follow-up for information to requesting departments and consult with management on best practices.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma.
- One to two years of supervisory experience in a commercial establishment with knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, or maintenance procedures.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in long-term care preferred.
- HVAC experience.
- Maintenance experience.
- Healthcare experience preferred but can be trained if needed.
