About the Role
The Maintenance Director oversees the overall operation of the Maintenance department, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years’ maintenance experience
- Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of local building codes and ordinances
Responsibilities
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Perform proficiently in competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, and others
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and/or confidential information
- Adhere to company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
- Plan, supervise, and direct maintenance programs
- Schedule preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements
- Inspect equipment and systems regularly for proper functioning and safety
- Run errands, handle incoming/outgoing freight, and lift/move heavy furniture and equipment
- Recruit, select, hire, evaluate, train, counsel, and supervise maintenance staff
- Perform duties as a Maintenance Assistant as needed
- Effectively manage and operate within budget
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate, use reasoning skills, and exercise good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during working hours
