Maintenance Director

About the role

Haven of Paris is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Director to join their leadership team. This role involves overseeing the physical operations of the facility, ensuring a safe, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for both residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas of the facility remain clean, safe, and well-maintained.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other building systems.
• Manage purchasing, storage, and inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment, and tools.
• Conduct and oversee routine safety inspections, fire and disaster drills, and ensure compliance with OSHA, IDPH, and Life Safety Code regulations.
• Maintain compliance with all life safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, emergency generators, and related equipment.
• Cook up and oversee contracted maintenance work as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and regulatory documentation.
• Participate in the weekend Supervisor rotation and serve as the on-call emergency contact as needed.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous building maintenance experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting, is required.
• A working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance is necessary (certifications are a plus).
• Familiarity with OSHA, IDPH, and Life Safety Code regulations is important.
• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
• The ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and respond effectively to emergencies is crucial.
