Maintenance Director

Responsibilities

• Oversight and approval of all necessary repairs/improvements for the facility systems and processes to ensure efficiency, safety and compliance
• Maintain accurate safety records and logs and produce required reports as needed
• Supervise and monitor maintenance staff and maintenance contractors working in the facility
• Provide ongoing preventative maintenance and upkeep of the facility, building, building systems, fire/safety equipment and medical equipment
• Inspect maintenance work for quality, safety, and compliance
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment (workshop)
• Verify daily logs of refrigerator temperatures
• Validate daily test and logs of water temperatures within the facility
• Mandate and observe budgetary guidelines regarding supplies and service and follows proper procedure as if relates to purchase order system and approval before ordering supplies
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures
• Acts as chairperson for Safety Committee
• Absorb compliance with State and Federal Regulatory codes

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• College degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering is highly preferred
• At least 5 years experience in plant engineering and a maintenance supervisory role
• Expertise in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, automation systems, carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC are essential
• Working knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization and administration
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Must exercise considerable independent judgment
• Effective communication and collaboration skills are required to work with facility staff, contractors and general public
