About the role
The Maintenance Director leads the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance and Environmental Services Department at Country Villa Wellness & Rehabilitation. This role requires strong experience in life safety compliance, preventive maintenance, and managing various building systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Maintenance, Laundry, and Environmental Services departments.
- Ensure compliance with CMS Life Safety Code, state regulations, OSHA standards, and all applicable building codes.
- Cook up and execute a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
- Perform and oversee repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Maintain fire protection systems, emergency generators, sprinkler systems, alarms, and other life safety equipment.
- Maintain all resident rooms, common areas, and facility grounds in a safe, clean, attractive, and well-maintained condition.
- Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, supplies, vendor relationships, and accounts payable related to the department.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, administration, housekeeping, dietary, and other departments to provide exceptional service throughout the facility.
- Ensure wheelchairs, shower chairs, lifts, resident equipment, furniture, and facility equipment remain in excellent working condition.
- Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, seasonal projects, and facility improvements as needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 2 years of Maintenance Director, Maintenance Supervisor, Plant Operations, or Facilities Management experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, hospital, assisted living community, or other healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated experience with Life Safety inspections, CMS surveys, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, boilers, mechanical equipment, preventive maintenance, and fire safety systems.
- Previous supervisory or management experience is required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond to emergency maintenance situations.
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
