Maintenance Custodian (Kingsboro MICA Shelter)

Responsibilities

• Maintains carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and HVAC systems as needed.
• Repairs and addresses building maintenance issues, reporting major problems to the Superintendent.
• Rotates among all shelters to complete building repairs and needs such as painting, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping.
• Completes all assigned work orders promptly.
• Maintains tools, supplies, and equipment, following OSHA regulations.
• Assists with ground cleanup and snow removal as assigned.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary workspace.
• Drives agency vehicles as needed, accurately tracking mileage.
• Cleans public areas and workspaces as assigned.
• Strips, waxes, buffs, mops, and vacuums floors as assigned.
• May work on weekends to support shelter operations.

Requirements

• A High School Graduate or possess a GED.
• Trade certificates preferred but not required.
• One year of experience in maintenance is preferred.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
