Maintenance Craftsperson Park

About the role

The position involves the maintenance and repair of park play areas. Work is performed under supervision of a foreman, with reviews conducted during the process and upon completion.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, alters, and repairs park structures and play equipment.
• Operates woodworking machinery.
• Paints, decorates structures, buildings, and equipment, including spray painting and glazing.
• May supervise assigned helpers in less skilled aspects of work performed.
• May operate motor equipment of from light to moderate tonnage.
• Performs related work as required.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age at the time of filing the application.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with or supplemented by training in a specialized trade.
• At least three years of varied experience in the work performed.

Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, equipment, processes, and techniques of the work performed. Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions involved in work performed. Some knowledge of the fundamentals of a variety of skilled trades. Ability to work from written and oral instructions, sketches, and drawings. Ability to supervise the work of assigned helpers. Skill in the use and care of tools, equipment, and materials employed in the work performed.
