Maintenance/Construction Technician
About the role
This is a hands-on role where you'll be working on apartment upgrades—everything from demo to finishing touches—to help get homes ready for new residents. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well with a team, and keeps up in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Completing full apartment renovations, including kitchen and bathroom upgrades
- Handling demolition of cabinets, flooring, appliances, and fixtures
- Installing plumbing fixtures such as toilets, tubs, and faucets
- Performing basic electrical work like replacing outlets, switches, and installing appliances
- Completing carpentry tasks including framing, cabinetry, countertops, drywall repairs, and painting
- Assisting with inventory, materials tracking, and deliveries across job sites
- Partnering with project managers, site teams, and vendors to keep projects on track
- Walking completed units, identifying punch list items, and ensuring quality finishes
Requirements
This is a hands-on role that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. No previous construction experience is necessary, but a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Qualifications
While not specified, this position is open to candidates who are interested in a career with Berger Communities and who can demonstrate a commitment to quality work and teamwork.
Skills
Basic carpentry skills, familiarity with plumbing and electrical systems, and the ability to follow safety protocols are essential. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are also important.

Pay
$21–$24/hour
Schedule
Hours vary based on project needs, but typically range from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
