About the role
This is manual and semi-skilled work in maintaining the city's storm sewers, streets, and rights of way (ROW).
Responsibilities
- Installation, repair and inspection of utility work to include water or sanitary sewer systems or plumbing to include the installation, repair and inspection of pipes as associated water/sewer systems.
- Certificate of satisfactory completion/graduation from a Vocational High School Program; a Diploma/Certificate of Completion from an accredited Technical College in welding, plumbing, pump maintenance, mechanics, electric, or closely related field; or military training in the above fields.
- Valid operator's drivers license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) within 120 days of date of employment/promotion/transfer/demotion to this position.
- Available to be contacted via phone within 30 days of employment/promotion/demotion/transfer, due to call out requirements.
Requirements
- Graduation from a standard senior-high school or GED equivalent, as recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Six (6) months recent experience in the installation, repair and inspection of utility work to include water or sanitary sewer systems or plumbing to include the installation, repair and inspection of pipes as associated water/sewer systems preferred.
Qualifications
