Maintenance - Carpenter

Qualifications

• High school or general education diploma
• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds or more
• Ability to climb all ladder sizes
• Ability to do routine walking, bending, and carrying of heavy items
• Experience in building maintenance and construction
• Basic knowledge of all building systems

Terms Of Employment

• Contract length: 240 days
• Evaluation: Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the maintenance supervisor

Job Goal

The Maintenance - Carpenter will endeavor to maintain the school facilities and grounds. The Maintenance - Carpenter will establish a knowledge of maintaining building systems and grounds to provide a safe and pleasant learning environment for all students and staff.

Performance Responsibilities

• Fulfills and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
• Maintains facilities building systems, to include:
• Roof inspection and repair
• Door hardware inspection and repair
• Inspection and repair of floor coverings
• Rough and finish carpentry
• Construction and installation of millwork
• Forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete
• Operating of construction equipment and hand tools
• Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance
• Maintains and uses the District work order system and District forms
• Follows all Material Safety Data Sheet directions on all chemical products used by the Conway Public School District; uses proper labeling and follows all safety procedures
• Willing to assist with other assignments given by the maintenance supervisor
• Ability to work and communicate with other Conway Public School District personnel and students
