Maintenance Building Custodian

About the Role

This position maintains the cleanliness of the building and grounds of the property, including troubleshooting, resolution, and repair of various maintenance-related duties.

Responsibilities

• Clean and supply restrooms (washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, mirrors; removing trash; restocking disposables).
• Service breakrooms, conference rooms, front lobby, and offices at both site facilities (shop and main building).
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming.
• Gather and empty facility trash into the facility dumpster.
• Maintain current inventory of all cleaning and maintenance materials.
• Assist in inspecting and extensively cleaning production equipment, engineering equipment, special projects equipment, and office equipment.
• Assist in performing minor plumbing repairs (sinks, toilets, water heater, supply lines) with oversight and after completing necessary training.
• Maintain a clean and organized tool room and maintenance supplies; ensure work areas are properly cleaned and items appropriately stored.
• Assist with set-up for special events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• 1-2 years of related work experience (preferred).
• Maintenance experience (preferred).

Qualifications

• Basic industrial maintenance and safety knowledge.
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment.
• Understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and requirements.
• Self-starter with effective organizational skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines with conflicting priorities.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment with attention to detail and flexibility.
• Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test.

Working Conditions

• Full-time shop exposure with occasional extreme temperatures (seasonal).
• No travel requirements.
• Work involves standing for 8-10 hours per day, up to 6 days a week.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs, and ladders regularly.
• Good vision, hearing, smell, and balance required.
