Maintenance B Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR ROTATING NIGHT SHIFTS, 7:00 P.M TO 7:00 A.M. (2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off)
  • Works independently under general supervision to perform highly complex tasks such as to diagnose, repair, and maintain plant equipment and building.
  • Essential Functions:
    • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, and should be able to comprehend simple to very detailed schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and the ability to setup and operate more complex equipment.
    • Must be able to troubleshoot problems and make repairs in the areas of his specialties either from experience or with the aid of manuals, wiring diagrams, etc.
    • Perform basic shop math, including fractions and/or decimals.
    • Must often use independent judgment to diagnose equipment problems and analyze best method for desired results.
    • Maintain equipment in plant
    • Maintain expected quality levels.
    • Using Computers (entering information, etc)
    • Comply with all site required policies and procedures including but not limited to: EHS, Quality, Code of Conduct and the Wichita Falls Employee Handbook.
    • Observes robotic and other automated equipment to detect malfunctions, identify when a system needs to be reset, or a robot re-homed, to restore the system to production
  • Job Responsibilities:
    • Selects proper tools and parts with the aid of blueprints, schematics, or diagrams when available.
    • Uses a variety of testing devices such as leak detectors and electrical instruments.
    • Observes robots and related equipment to detect malfunctions, and repairs or replaces defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
    • Maintains department in a clean and orderly manner and cleans around area where equipment was repaired in a production department.
    • Performs other duties as required.
    • Complies with all EHS rules related to the work environment
    • Works Overtime when needed.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Responsibilities

  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Requires wearing safety glasses, flame retardant clothing, earplugs, Metal tarsal shoes, Hard Hats, Respirator, Caustic Suit and other department specified PPE
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.

  • Employee is required to execute the following: Depending upon the task, performs work requiring from minimal physical effort to heavy laboring operations. Work requires some constant walking, standing, heavy lifting, carrying and handling. Must pass Jaeger 2 eye exam. Frequently reaching for nearby items. Occasionally use fine manipulation, use a keyboard and mouse. Occasionally lifting and carrying to the waist-to-chest high level, carrying items with two hands. Frequently Gripping and pinching. Occasional stair and ladder climbing. Be able to crawl, squat, balance, sustain bending, reach far and overhead. Be able to finger Press. Be able to push, pull and twist. Be able to lift from floor-to-waist and chest-to-overhead. Moderate lifting 50 lbs. Non-Medical Surveillance Related EHS Training: Fall Control Confined Space Entry Machine Guarding Flammable/Combustible Liquids & Compressed Gases Hazardous energy sources (LTV) Electrical Equipment Used: Robots Aerial Lift Walk Behind Fork Truck Fork Truck Pallet Jack Maintenance equipment, tools, and testing devices. Robot Controllers and teach pendants Personal computers.

Training

  • Additional trade training in the mechanical or electrical field is beneficial.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to Nickel, Heat, KOH and RCF.
  • May be exposed to noise, oil, dust, fumes, chemicals, heat, cold, or wetness.
  • Some exposure to changes in seasonal temperatures.

Medical Surveillance Requirements

  • Audiogram Vision Heat Stress Mobile Equipment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic Computer skills.
  • Prefer to have working knowledge of plant equipment, its operation, and how to repair.
  • Prefer Associate Degree and technical training.
  • Prefer robot programming experience
  • Prefer schematic and blueprint reading experience.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills
