Maintenance Associate

About the role

The Bowery Mission is a Christian, faith-based organization dedicated to serving people experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. This key role involves creating a hospitable environment for guests and residents, focusing on building and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing physical reviews of assigned areas (including roofs and sidewalks).
• Carry out preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, complete checklists, perform minor plumbing repairs, and respond to work orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Assist Facility staff and other teams to provide excellent service, including physically assisting with event/space set-up and helping during events.
• Note and communicate maintenance and supply needs throughout assigned areas.
• Perform tasks such as reaching, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Embrace The Bowery Mission’s Statement of Faith.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years facilities experience.
• PREFERRED: Preventative maintenance practices, safety training/certificate, OSHA Certification.
• Driver’s license preferred.
• F80 (fire safety), NCI Certification, OSHA Certification.

Qualifications

• Available for days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

• Physical stamina and dexterity.

Benefits

• Flexible schedule: Tuesday-Saturday: 9:00am-5:30pm.

Pay

$21.63 per hour.
