About the role
The Bowery Mission is a Christian, faith-based organization dedicated to serving people experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. This key role involves creating a hospitable environment for guests and residents, focusing on building and grounds maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing physical reviews of assigned areas (including roofs and sidewalks).
- Carry out preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, complete checklists, perform minor plumbing repairs, and respond to work orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Assist Facility staff and other teams to provide excellent service, including physically assisting with event/space set-up and helping during events.
- Note and communicate maintenance and supply needs throughout assigned areas.
- Perform tasks such as reaching, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Embrace The Bowery Mission’s Statement of Faith.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years facilities experience.
- PREFERRED: Preventative maintenance practices, safety training/certificate, OSHA Certification.
- Driver’s license preferred.
- F80 (fire safety), NCI Certification, OSHA Certification.
Qualifications
- Available for days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

$21.63 per hour.
