Maintenance Associate

About the role
Our Maintenance Associate is responsible for performing a wide range of routine and preventative maintenance tasks ensuring the cleanliness of the facilities and buildings, including garbage and waste disposal, as well as performing event/room setups and breakdowns. This role is fundamental in maintaining our beautiful community and ensuring a safe environment for all.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance work of all skill levels from basic repairs to more complex tasks, including:
- Lighting checks, cleaning light lenses, bulb and ballast replacements
- Maintaining and repairing doors and locks
- Caulking, prep work, and painting
- Minor carpentry, construction, electrical, appliance, and furniture repairs
- Plumbing maintenance such as repairing or replacing faucets and fixtures
- Maintaining limited access gates, storage closets, doors, and locks
- Cleaning of areas around the pool, dumpster, and common areas
Requirements
- Previous experience in a related maintenance field, along with electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance is desired
- Able to use ladders and lifts
- Experience in general maintenance and entry-level computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Self-motivated, observant, with high attention to detail, and able to detect maintenance needs throughout the property and rectify concerns
- Effectively communicate with managers, residents, and peers verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow instructions and schedules as designated
- Maintain required logs and other documentation
- Dependable, solution-oriented, and professional in appearance
- Valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle
- Pass a background check, physical, and drug screening
- Pleasant personality and strong people skills
Physical Requirements
- Mobility: Ability to walk the grounds long distances in various weather conditions
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifting and carrying supplies or equipment up to 75 pounds
- Extended Sitting or Standing: Capability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings or events
- Manual Dexterity: Skills in using technology, including computers and mobile devices
- Driving: Ability to operate a vehicle to perform certain job functions (MVR will be reviewed at hire and periodically thereafter)
