Maintenance Assistant Supervisor Henrico, VA (Richmond)

About the role
Weinstein Properties, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, owns and manages over 60 apartment communities in Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. In this role, you will assist with managing and coordinating activities of a service team to ensure that all upkeep, inventory, and repair of grounds and buildings of the property are completed efficiently. You will work as part of the team to complete all maintenance duties, diagnose problems, and make repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances. You will also schedule and directly supervise all in-house and/or vendor work, and share on-call duties with other team members. This is a hands-on role focused on customer service to maximize rents and maintain high occupancy levels.
Responsibilities
- Assist with managing and coordinating activities of a service team for property upkeep, inventory, and repairs.
- Diagnose and repair issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances.
- Schedule and supervise in-house and vendor work.
- Share on-call duties with team members.
- Use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies, and communicate via email.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of trade-related experience with at least 1 year of hands-on apartment maintenance lead, assistant, or supervisory experience.
- Strong working knowledge of building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, interior/exterior maintenance, and carpentry.
- EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
- Hands-on HVAC repair experience required.
- Computer skills for managing work orders, scheduling, and communication.
- Willingness to share on-call duties.
- Valid driver’s license, transportation, and tools required.
- DMV and background/criminal check will be conducted.

Pay
- Starting pay: $26 per hour (depending on experience).
- On-call bonus: $150 per week (regardless of calls) plus an additional $150 per holiday on-call bonus.
- Quarterly bonus: Up to $1,110 (based on property and team performance).
Location: Abbington West End – Henrico, VA (Richmond).
