Maintenance Assistant / Janitor

About the role

The Maintenance Assistant / Janitor at Wesley Palms Retirement Community is responsible for keeping the premises clean and orderly. This position operates Wednesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Monday and Tuesday off.

Responsibilities

• Keeps premises of the facility, apartment houses, residential homes, and other buildings on company grounds clean and orderly.
• Performs janitorial tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Assists in maintaining common areas and resident units.
• Ensures compliance with safety standards and follows all health and sanitation guidelines.
• May assist in organizing and training other staff members as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous janitorial or related experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of the aging process and its effects on residents.
• Understanding of the services provided by residential and skilled nursing facilities and community resources.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work under professional supervision and participate in in-service training.
• Ability to interact appropriately with residents, their families, other staff members, and personnel from other community agencies.

Benefits

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. The actual compensation offered will depend on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, training, education, and licensure/certifications (as applicable).

Pay

The Maintenance Assistant / Janitor at Wesley Palms Retirement Community earns a pay range of $19.00 to $21.00 per hour.

Schedule

The Maintenance Assistant / Janitor works Wednesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Monday and Tuesday off.
