Maintenance Assistant

Essential Duties

• Aids in the maintenance of ongoing preventive maintenance programs
• Responds to maintenance orders placed by residents
• Aids in the turnover of empty apartments to facilitate leasing
• Repairs and maintains kitchen, housekeeping, and mechanical equipment
• Repairs and maintains heating and air-conditioning units
• Inspects and repairs damage to various areas including hallways, walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, and resident apartments
• Paints areas as needed
• Maintains necessary tools and equipment
• Lubricates appliances and other equipment according to a preventive maintenance schedule
• Inspects and changes central heating and air conditioning filters

Education/Experience Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Previous experience in a maintenance or similar role is preferred but not required
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and computer skills
• Understanding and upholding policies and procedures established by Triple Crown Senior Living
• Independence, confidentiality, professionalism, and leadership
• Effective interpersonal skills and sound judgment
• Good working relationships with residents, co-workers, families, and external customers
• Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
