Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspections and repairs of HVAC equipment, including cooling units, heating units, hot water systems, and ventilation equipment.
• Assist in repairs and install drywall, including mudding, taping, and sanding.
• Paint walls and ceilings as needed.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs, including unplugging, repairing, and replacing toilets, lavatories, sinks, and replacing faulty gate and ball valves.
• Shovel snow and scatter ice melts to ensure safe passage for residents, the public, and other employees.
• Perform minor electrical repairs, including replacing faulty outlets, switches, and other electrical apparatus.
• Assist and follow maintenance standards.
• Perform general rough and finish carpentry as well as rough and finish concrete work.
• Perform general landscaping and yard work, including mowing, cleanup, and other types of general yard work.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Complete administrative requirements (e.g., completing necessary forms and reports) and submit to the facility Administrator as necessary.
• Ensure an adequate supply of maintenance supplies is available to perform tasks.
• Ensure equipment is clean and safely stored at the end of the shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay

Pay Rate: $17–$21.25 per hour
