Canal Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Akron, OH is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant to join our team.
About the role
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities, contributing to a safe and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks
- Conduct minor repairs and perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery
- Assist in the preparation of areas for special events and activities
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in a healthcare or maintenance setting preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work varied shifts and flexible scheduling as needed
