Maintenance Assistant
Job Summary
The seasonal Maintenance Assistant supports our long-term care community during the summer and fall months. This temporary position assists with facility maintenance, groundskeeping, painting, repairs, landscaping, and general upkeep to ensure a safe and attractive environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining facilities, and can work independently as well as part of a team.
Compensation
$18.00 – $20.00 per hour dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine building and grounds maintenance.
- Aid with lawn care, landscaping, and seasonal outdoor projects.
- Complete basic repairs, painting, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Support compliance with safety regulations and facility standards.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Support special projects assigned by the Maintenance Director or Facility Administrator.
Qualifications
- Must be able to stand or walk in an 8-hour day.
- Must be physically able to waist lift, push and/or pull maximum of 80 pounds and overhead lift a maximum of 50 pounds, with frequent waist lifting and overhead lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to frequently bend, squat or climb during an 8-hour day.
- Must have valid driver's license with clear driving record.
Working Conditions
- May be exposed to working with chemicals.
- May be subject to differing temperatures.
- May be involved unexpectedly, or on short notice, to tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or mucous membranes.
