Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provides ongoing preventative maintenance for the facility, building, building systems, fire/safety equipment and medical equipment
• Performs all necessary repairs and maintains accurate records and logs and produces required reports
• Affirms compliance with State and Federal Regulatory codes
• Abides by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan
• Maintains clean, safe working environment at all times of the maintenance workshop
• Reads and logs refrigerator temperatures daily
• Tests and logs water temperatures daily
• Observes budgetary guidelines regarding supplies and service and follows proper procedures relating to FutureCare’s purchase order system
• Adheres to facility policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a building maintenance capacity is highly preferred
• Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility environment is a plus
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language is required
• Must have a polite and courteous demeanor towards residents and staff members
• Ability to multi-task and work a flexible shift is highly desirable
• Meets physical demands with standing, bending, stooping, walking, and lifting at least 50 pounds
