Position Overview
As a Maintenance Assistant at New Lebanon, you will play a key role in ensuring our facility is well-maintained, functional, and safe. You will work alongside the Maintenance Director and other team members to perform routine maintenance tasks, respond to repair requests, and help uphold the high standards of our facility.
What You'll Do
- Facility Maintenance: Perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, and upkeep of the building, equipment, and grounds.
- Safety Checks: Conduct regular inspections to ensure the facility complies with safety regulations and standards.
- Respond to Requests: Address maintenance-related requests from residents and staff in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with Projects: Support the Maintenance Director with larger projects, renovations, and improvements.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Help ensure common areas, mechanical rooms, and outdoor spaces are clean and orderly.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to assist with emergency maintenance issues, such as plumbing, electrical, or HVAC concerns.
- Inventory Management: Assist with managing maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and usage.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Prior experience in building maintenance, repair work, or facility operations preferred (healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus).
- Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks thoroughly and safely.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with residents, staff, and vendors.
- Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with other departments to maintain a smooth operation.
- Physical Ability: Capability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks as required.
