About the role

We are seeking a motivated, experienced, hands-on Maintenance Technician for a full-time position reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent. This role is based in Natick, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Maintenance Superintendent with the physical plant, including preventive, responsive, routine and emergency maintenance throughout the property.
  • Performing assigned maintenance tasks such as painting, electrical, plumbing, flooring, general carpentry, HVAC issues, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, minor repairs in common areas, completing work orders, keeping grounds and common areas free of trash and debris.
  • Maintaining physical plant preventive, responsive, emergency and routine maintenance, inspecting grounds, buildings, and other community features.
  • Completing special projects, tasks or duties as assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent, Manager, or Property Manager.
  • Providing emergency on-call service for after-hours maintenance-related issues as required, typically every other week.
  • Fostering a positive and respectful attitude toward residents, vendors, and staff; working patiently, professionally, and cooperatively.
  • Communicating effectively with residents, fellow associates, vendors, and supervisors.
  • Complying with all personnel management policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring adherence to the company's safety and operating policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Working with the Facilities Manager to enhance the value of the community.

Requirements

  • Hands-on repair and maintenance work constitutes the majority of time and duties.
  • Able to move up to 50 pounds variable distances; mobility and flexibility to use ladders to heights in excess of 8 feet.
  • Ability to use general maintenance equipment including but not limited to: hand tools, ladders, and required safety equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions, possess a team attitude, and work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, organized, strong customer service skills, detail-oriented, and efficient.
  • Basic computer and Internet abilities.
  • Able to complete tasks assigned in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in property management or related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
