Maintenance and Reliability Planner

This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

About the role

You will research and compile information and feedback to generate highly effective and detailed job plans, initiate procurement of materials and tools, prepare job plans for general maintenance activities, and schedule downtime. You will partner with senior team members to improve reliability and reduce lost production, maintain databases (SAP) to support work projects, and plan basic repair procedures to ensure compliance with plant maintenance procedures. Additionally, you will review completed work orders, update machinery history data, provide progress reports, handle basic issues under supervision, and enhance maintenance plans for safety, reliability, and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Research and compile information and feedback to generate detailed job plans.
• Initiate procurement of materials, special tools, and unique items using maintenance programs and database tools.
• Prepare job plans for general maintenance activities and schedule downtime.
• Partner with senior team members to identify opportunities for improving reliability and reducing lost production.
• Maintain databases (SAP) to support specific work projects and processes.
• Plan and execute basic repair procedures in compliance with plant maintenance procedures.
• Review completed work orders for completeness and accuracy, updating machinery history data in the tracking system.
• Provide reports to keep maintenance leaders informed of work progress and future schedules.
• Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision; escalate complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Make additions to maintenance plans to improve safety, reliability, and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Computer skills.
• Familiarity with beef processing equipment.
• Strong communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of basic tools and maintenance-related subjects.
• Willingness to participate in various teams such as HAZMAT.

• SAP experience.
