About the role
Use your experience and skills to troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment. This role involves assisting the Plant Engineer in planning, directing, and coordinating activities within the Engineering and Maintenance departments. It requires a hands-on approach to projects and in-depth knowledge of electrical or mechanical engineering and trade practices.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Use monitoring and testing equipment to facilitate troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and maintaining equipment.
- Training:
- Identify and develop maintenance training programs in all process areas.
- Identify targeted training for individuals in the department and validate training with audits.
- Maintenance programs:
- Identify and develop new and current equipment PMs (Preventive Maintenance).
- Develop annual audit PMs for different process and infrastructure areas.
- Evaluate equipment for obsolescence and upgrade options.
- Process Improvements and Capital:
- Track maintenance downtime and develop improvement plans for each area.
- Work with Plant Engineers on equipment improvement plans and capital execution.
- Assist with the execution of new equipment installations.
- Manpower:
- Work with maintenance technicians as needed to execute planned work.
- Collaborate with contractors as part of capital and non-capital projects.
- Ensure safe work practices and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two-year certificate from college or technical school with a focus in machining and/or electronics and three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell.
