Engineering & Maintenance Technician
About The Role
The Engineering and Maintenance Technician provides hands-on engineering support and maintenance services to support plastics materials production, performing both minor and major electrical and mechanical repairs on processing and support equipment. This role is responsible for executing a wide range of maintenance activities, addressing immediate operational and safety concerns, and performing routine and extensive preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, utility systems, processing equipment, and material handling systems. The technician actively drives root cause analysis and implements effective countermeasures for equipment and process faults, ensuring knowledge is transferred back to the manufacturing team for process improvement. In addition, the role collaborates closely with production and manufacturing engineering to support testing, process definition, and the triage and debugging of manufacturing processes.

What You'll Do
- Cook up with skilled tradesmen and/or engineers for the purpose of completing projects efficiently.
- Design and complete small fabrication projects involving mechanical and electrical systems.
- Install system component parts for the purpose of providing a safe and workable environment.
- Maintain tools and measurement equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability and are in safe operating condition.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Perform a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
- Prepare written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
- Respond to emergency situations and equipment breakdowns during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Conduct maintenance tasks on all equipment in manufacturing
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment in manufacturing on required schedule; sets required schedules if not predetermined
What You'll Need
- 2-year Technical Degree, Trade School or equivalent experience required
- 2 years of Maintenance Technician experience required
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Mechanical or electrical fabrication experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
