About the role
Metal Technologies is a premier metal casting company established in 1997. We are a privately held, family-owned company that specializes in producing high-quality gray iron, ductile iron, austempered ductile, and value-added machining for various industries. Our foundries have unique processes and capabilities that complement specific product families and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e., glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, etc.), following safe work practices and operating equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Design, install, program, build & rebuild advanced electronic circuitry.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair foundry related electrical and electronic systems (i.e. relay logic, PLC, Computer, & Microprocessor).
- Perform mechanical maintenance duties including hydraulic maintenance (pumps, valves, controls and cylinders), plumbing maintenance (pipings, fittings and assemblies), pneumatic maintenance (cylinders, valves and controls), metal fabricating (cutting, fitting, bolting, welding and assembly), welding (oxygen, acetylene, arc welding, brazing, hard surfacing and silver soldering), and equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repairs (wheelabrators, grinders, mixers, elevators, conveyors, belts, oscillating conveyors, shakeouts, air compressors, molding machines, electrical equipment, robots, furnaces, scale systems, etc.).
- Use various tools (e.g. come-along, wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, sanders, drills, pliers, ratchets, clamps, pry bars, pneumatic/electrical tools, etc.) and operate machines such as drill presses, grinders, band saws, hack saws, and other tools related to maintenance.
- Read, comprehend, and understand both electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, blueprint reading, and manuals.
- Operate a forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lift, and articulating boom lift.
- Perform work in confined spaces following the requirements of the Company’s Confined Space Program.
- Ability to work at elevated levels (ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.).
Requirements
- Five years electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving skills. A background in electrical and mechanical maintenance is essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
Proficiency in electrical and mechanical maintenance, reading and understanding schematics, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems are key. Strong communication and teamwork skills are also important.
