Maplewood Rehab and Nursing in Amesbury, Massachusetts is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Director to join their thriving leadership team. As a key member of our team, the Maintenance Director will plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities.
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities.
- Ensures the facility remains in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations for Life Safety Code compliance.
- Reviews and updates department policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, and more.
- Prepares and monitors operating and staffing budgets for maintenance and ensures staff are properly trained on safety policies and procedures.
- Oversees planning, direction, participation, and supervision of both preventative and unplanned maintenance and repair activities.
- Purchases general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment within budgetary responsibilities.
- Ensures services performed by outside vendors are properly completed and supervised in accordance with contracts and work orders.
- Maintains facility's Fire Safety program and ensures compliance with multiple OSHA standards.
- Develops and implements preventive maintenance tasks and document instructions and procedures.
- Schedules department work hours, personnel, and work assignments to expedite work.
- Assists in standardizing methods for performing maintenance tasks.
- Ensures facility's compliance with laws and regulations.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and runs, operates, and assesses technical aspects of facility machinery, equipment, and buildings.
- Treats all residents with dignity and respect and promotes their rights.
- Establishes a culture of compliance and adheres to all facility policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance/plant related position.
- Licensed in accordance with applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Director with a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long Term Care Facility preferred.
- A working understanding of electrical systems, HVAC systems, and various mechanical and architectural systems.
- Valid driver's license.
