Responsibilities

• Install and maintain production machines and equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during service.
• Apply mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair skills to production machines.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Parallel all rolls and set adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.
• Teach other maintenance classifications proper qualification requirements and maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC drives and their control systems.
• Maintain work orders and parts in SAP or a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Respond to off‑shift calls to maintain/repair facility equipment.
• Utilize all aspects of the maintenance work‑order program.
• Plan and schedule maintenance work, assigning tasks to other maintenance classifications based on abilities and limitations.
• Troubleshoot and repair motor circuits, including simple electrical control circuits; test electric motors for opens and shorts.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Conduct plumbing, carpentry, and other miscellaneous maintenance functions as needed.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material‑handling equipment.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and good housekeeping.
• Follow up on all work to ensure repairs are performed properly.
• Complete paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with company guidelines.
• Work required hours and shifts, maintaining regular and timely attendance.
• Follow LOTO (lockout/tagout) procedures for machines/equipment.
• Learn and adhere to relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures.
• Report incidents, near‑misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• 5–6 years of industrial maintenance mechanic experience, including diagnosing and troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• 1–3 years of corrugator experience.
• Experience with a Computer Maintenance Management System.
• Intermediate knowledge of troubleshooting AC and DC drives and their control systems.
• Intermediate knowledge and experience with ladder logic and PLCs.
• Industrial electrical certification or license (preferred).
• Successful demonstration of all Tech 3 qualifications.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong working knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques, work‑order systems, equipment lubrication standards and industrial safety standards.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Must provide own tools to perform maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (minimum education requirement).
• Industrial electrical certification/license (preferred).
• Tech 3 qualification demonstration.
• Ability to work independently and be highly motivated.

Skills

• Mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance.
• Electrical troubleshooting, motor circuit repair, and testing.
• AC/DC drive diagnostics and control‑system troubleshooting.
• Ladder logic programming and PLC troubleshooting.
• Use of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material‑handling equipment.
• Proficiency with SAP or other CMMS for work‑order and parts management.
• Preventative maintenance planning and execution.
• Plumbing and carpentry maintenance functions.
• Strong adherence to safety procedures, including LOTO.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.

The role requires occasional standing, frequent walking, frequent use of hands and arms, viewing a computer monitor, using a telephone, and speaking/listening frequently. Occasional lifting or moving of up to 10 lb may be required. The work environment includes typical office noise levels, possible frequent interruptions, confined spaces, and extended periods at a computer terminal.
