Maint/Mech I

About the role

Under general supervision, repair and maintain simple machinery and mechanical equipment by performing required pre-operational, in-process, and post-batch inspections.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle devices to gain access to clean and remove/repair defective parts.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Repair or replace defective parts.
• Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricate and clean parts.
• Run devices to test their performance.
• Perform building and plant equipment inspections and audits.
• Perform building and plant upgrades.
• Participate in physical inventories and cycle counting.
• Contribute to team effort, i.e., assisting in any area required, etc.
• Train designated employees on related procedures.
• Participate in safety, loss control, accident, incident, and rework investigations, as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Experience in a related field.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Valid state driver’s license, with a good driving record.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain preventive maintenance records, logs, and reports.
• Ability to operate safely and efficiently a wide variety of power equipment and hand tools.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Pay

This position has a salary range of $22.00-$27.00 per hour. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.

Meridian offers an incentive plan for 2025 focused on safety, quality, and financial metrics. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn up to $1,520 a year, with earned payments distributed quarterly throughout the year.

Schedule

Monday – Friday from 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM.
