About the Role

Tonkin Hyundai Gresham is seeking a motivated Mainline Technician to join our service team. As a Mainline Technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain Hyundai vehicles while working closely with service advisors and fellow technicians. Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Hyundai vehicles
  • Identify mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns using diagnostic equipment
  • Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards
  • Perform warranty repairs and maintenance services accurately and efficiently
  • Inspect vehicles and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance
  • Document repair procedures and findings clearly on repair orders
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency goals while ensuring quality workmanship
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Participate in Hyundai factory training and certification programs
  • Work collaboratively with service advisors and team members to ensure a positive customer experience

Qualifications

  • Previous automotive technician experience required
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform repairs independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of automotive electrical, engine, suspension, brake, and drivetrain systems
  • Ability to use scan tools, diagnostic equipment, and service information systems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hyundai experience preferred
  • ASE certifications preferred
  • Hyundai factory certifications a plus
  • Dealership experience preferred

Corporate requirements: Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record, able to pass a criminal background check, and a pre-employment drug screen.
