Mainline Excavator Operator

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, safely and efficiently:

• excavate an on-line/on-grade trench that is properly sloped, benched or shored
• place pipe bedding and pipe in a trench
• attach/detach various buckets with a quick coupler

Hours

Hours: Ability to work hourly full time, generally 7:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays. More/less hours may be required based on weather conditions and project demands. Winter layoff may occur annually.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States required
• Minimum of at least 18 years of age required

Physical Requirements

• Sit for long periods of time
• As necessary, get out of machine and assist ground personnel with pipe-laying operations
• Climb up and down ladders
• Be able to see (naturally or with correction)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred
• Experience operating heavy equipment in the underground utility industry preferred
• High school education or equivalent preferred
