Position Summary
Westhaven Golf Club, an award-winning, private golf club in Franklin, TN is searching for a Main Dining Room Server who provides world-class customer service for our fine dining restaurant. This person is responsible for greeting guests, taking food and drink orders, providing menu recommendations, and delivering orders promptly and accurately. Servers are also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized dining area, processing payments, handling customer issues, and ensuring a positive dining experience from start to finish. This is a full-time position.
Essential Functions
- Guest Services: Greet and seat guests, present menus, and answer questions about menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.
- Order Management: Take accurate food and drink orders, noting any special requests, dietary needs, or allergies, and relay the information to the kitchen and bar staff promptly.
- Food and Beverage Delivery: Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner, checking back with guests to ensure satisfaction and refilling drinks as needed.
- Payment Processing: Prepare accurate bills and process various forms of payment (cash, credit card) using a point-of-sale (POS) system and return change or receipts to guests.
- Dining Area Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned tables and the overall dining area, which includes clearing plates, sanitizing surfaces, and resetting tables for new guests.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with hosts, runners, kitchen staff, and bartenders to ensure a seamless and efficient dining experience.
- Upselling: Make recommendations and upsell appetizers, desserts, or premium beverages to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol beverage control policies and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Customer Service Skills: A friendly, professional, and patient demeanor with a strong desire to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Time Management & Multitasking: The ability to manage multiple tables and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in recording orders and monitoring guest needs to prevent errors and address issues promptly.
- Basic Math Skills: Competency in basic arithmetic for handling transactions and splitting bills.
- Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred.
- Flexibility: A willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience working in a restaurant.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale tracking technology and restaurant management platforms.
- Tennessee ABC Server Card (must be attained in first 90 days on property).
