Mailing Services Technician - Life Indexing Services (Part-Time)

Job Description

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join us as a Mailing Services Technician. This job requires the person to:

• Sort and process incoming and outgoing company mail pieces.
• Accurately file agency mail by numerical agency code and name.
• Check and determine the most prudent mailing method.
• Assemble and attach applicable forms and endorsements.
• Thoroughly review filed documents and/or assembled policies for accuracy.
• Operate mailing equipment and computer applications.
• Activities associated with mail operations, including, but not limited to, frequently standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Occasionally required to lift or move up to 35 pounds, at times shoulder level, and maneuvering carts weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
• Assist with the training of others.
• Assist with other duties as assigned within the department or elsewhere on request.

Desired Skills And Experience

• The ability to read and accurately file by number.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Must be flexible and able to multi-task.
• Ability to maintain a professional business image and work effectively with associates at all levels is required.
• Ability to work as a part of a team, as well as independently is required.
• A high school education or equivalent job related experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of office etiquette, filing experience and computer knowledge. Experience in related field is preferred.
