This position is based at Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas and reports to the Assistant Front of House Manager. No supervisory responsibilities.
About the role
The Waitstaff is responsible for creating the Magnolia Table experience for guests by providing prompt service, delivering quality products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable restaurant environment. This role ensures the highest level of customer care by providing exceptional service and assistance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest level of guest care, in line with Magnolia’s brand
- Greet and escort guests to their table when necessary
- Follow steps of service for an exceptional guest experience
- Present the menu and provide information on portions, ingredients, and food allergies
- Engage in suggestive selling of seasonal specials and beverages
- Relay orders to the kitchen by recording guest choices, identifying special dietary needs, and noting special requests
- Serve orders by running food from the kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars
- Contribute to opening, running, and closing side work (e.g., brewing coffee/tea, stocking beverage stations, filling water carafes, maintaining a clean and organized workspace)
- Contribute to a safe and clean working environment
- Perform other duties as assigned

Skills
- Proficiency in Toast preferred
- Strong customer service skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor while working with a sense of urgency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 0-1 years of related work experience preferred
- Food Handler's license and TABC certification required upon hire
- Must be available to work weekends, nights, special events, and holidays as business needs require
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell
- Frequently required to stand and walk
- Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment
- Operates in a fast-paced kitchen and dining environment
- Routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances

- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is intermittent and may cause hearing loss or fatigue
- Subject to high and low temperatures
- Exposed to workplace hazards
