About the Role
As a Night Stocker, you'll become part of a highly-functioning team in the Grocery or Drug Store department, working to meet common goals and sharing the nighttime work lifestyle. You'll learn about multiple products and departments across the store, with opportunities to build skills for other roles and potentially a career at H-E-B.
Responsibilities
- Stock shelves, refill displays, and load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products; may unload trucks.
- Condition shelves and products, applying product knowledge (e.g., rotation dates, shelf/label info) to meet A+ Standards.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized department, including back rooms and shelves.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and leader direction to ensure compliance.
- Ensure federal, state, and company regulations and standards for product food safety and sanitation are met.
- Work efficiently and collaboratively, complying with productivity standards and taking constructive feedback.
- Assist customers in locating products and answering questions, modeling customer service and hospitality.
- Work cross-functionally within the store and build relationships across departments (e.g., Curbside).
- May coach or train other stockers.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience stocking and in customer service is preferred; experience in a physically demanding job is a plus.
- Understanding of SOPs related to emergency procedures, proper stocking, and safety.
- Strong communication, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to organize, manage time, and work efficiently under pressure.
- Customer service skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to perform repetitive, physical tasks, including heavy lifting (specific weight requirements vary by department).
- Ability to think quickly, work with agility, and manage multiple priorities with close attention to detail.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.

- Ability to lift 66 lbs and manage in excess of 50 lbs.
- Dairy:
- Constantly: Reach at waist, grasp; exposed to cold temperatures.
- Frequently: Stand, walk, bend.
- Occasionally: Reach at overhead, shoulder, knee, or floor; stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements.

- Ability to lift 86 lbs and manage in excess of 100 lbs.

- Ability to lift 60 lbs and manage in excess of 60 lbs.
Frequency definitions: Constantly = 5.5+ hours per 8-hour day; Frequently = 2.5–5.5 hours per 8-hour day; Occasionally = 0–2.5 hours per 8-hour day.
Partners must never lift beyond their safe limit. If an item is too heavy, break it down or ask for assistance.
