Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist - FT, Evenings

About the Role

Responsible for the independent operation of MRI equipment to achieve high-quality images while maintaining an optimal level of patient care for patients of all ages. Ensures magnet safety by screening all patients and staff entering zones 3 and 4. This position is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs all MRI procedures proficiently, including proper positioning, coil selection, and scanning protocol knowledge.
• Completes imaging studies in a timely manner, ensures accurate charging, and delivers images to the radiologist promptly.
• Identifies patients using two patient identifiers and communicates MR safety requirements via questionnaire and clinical history.
• Assesses and communicates patient sedation needs to medical staff and informs patients/families of delays.
• Prepares scan rooms using approved cleaning protocols, discards sharps properly, and maintains adequate supplies and linen.
• Prepares and administers contrast materials within scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or approved Radiology protocol.
• Implements emergency procedures as needed.
• Performs departmental and hospital-related computer functions, ensuring accurate and prompt data entry.
• Conducts quality control tasks to ensure equipment and procedural standards are met.
• Stays updated on organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes by checking email each shift.
• Provides clinical instruction to staff technologists and students, prepares staff schedules, and coordinates daily workflow.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Certification Program).
• ARRT registered in Radiology & MRI; OR ARRT registered in MRI; OR ARMRIT-American Registry of MRI certification.
• BLS certification.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills.
• Strong mathematical skills.
