About the role

This position is responsible for general labor such as using a knife and hook to trim large pieces of product or involve the use of powered equipment all the while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Use a knife and hook to trim large pieces of product or involve the use of powered equipment such as saws or skinner machines.
• Remove the hide from the cattle, trim large pieces of product or run heavy pieces of equipment.
• Operate large pieces of equipment such as air knives, whizard knives, saws and skinner machines.
• Trim hides or operate large pieces of equipment.
• Work in any department of the Processing, Harvest or hides facility.
• Push/pull/carry/lift 50 pounds or more.
• Work in extreme hot, wet environment, temperatures ranging from 45-100 ᵒ and or cold dry environment, temperatures ranging from 32-45ᵒ and stand 8-10 hours a day.

Requirements

• Willing to work in extreme hot, wet environment, temperatures ranging from 45-100 ᵒ and or cold dry environment, temperatures ranging from 32-45ᵒ and stand 8-10 hours a day.
• Willing to work in cold, damp or hot and humid environment with slippery walking surfaces.
• Work in a cold, damp environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 45 degrees.
• Lift requirement varies from 0-65 lbs.

Qualifications

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Skills

Low to intermediate skill labor, such as placing hams on machinery to be sliced, operating bandsaws, bagging hams, etc.
