About the role

SAIC is seeking an Integration Technician for our customer site in North Charleston, SC to support MADIS (Marine Air Defense Integrated System).

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderate to complex vehicle integration tasks including cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support.
  • Assemble cabinets, chassis, consoles, or similar devices and install them with electronic or electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions.
  • Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions.
  • Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment.
  • Interpret integration documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.
  • Interprets drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations for fabrication; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
  • Safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis; walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods; repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles; familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary; move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Six (6) with degree/formal training or ten (10) years with HS/GED of practical experience to include design, preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
  • Specific Experience: Five (5) years of practical experience in C4ISR systems, C4ISR land-based vehicular platforms or related C4ISR systems/subsystems. Experience, to include installation of such equipment. Three (3) year of experience, to include design, preparation and modification of engineering documents, and drawings. Four (4) years of experience in task C4ISR systems, C4ISR land-based vehicular platforms or related C4ISR systems/subsystems, of which 3 must have been performed within the last 4 years. Experience may be achieved simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance and CAC.
