We are seeking a hands-on manufacturing ERP and planning/scheduling expert to take ownership of a critical manufacturing systems improvement initiative. Our organization currently uses Made2Manage (Aptean), and we need someone who can independently assess how the system is configured and being used, identify the root causes of planning and scheduling issues, implement improvements, and help determine whether a supplemental scheduling solution is needed. This is not an ERP support or end-user role. We need someone who can assess → diagnose → configure → implement → validate → optimize → train → establish sustainable processes. What You'll Do Assess the current Made2Manage environment, including MRP/MPS, BOMs, routings, work centers, calendars, capacity, lead times, job/work orders and shop-floor processes. Identify whether issues are related to ERP configuration, master data, business processes or system limitations. Make or lead hands-on corrections to ERP planning and scheduling configuration. Improve production planning, scheduling, job prioritization, sequencing, capacity visibility and schedule accuracy. Evaluate master data and planning parameters affecting MRP and production performance. Improve work-order/work-ticket flow and shop-floor execution. Work directly with Supply Chain, Operations and IT to redesign and implement improved processes. Test and validate system changes and ensure the new processes work in the real manufacturing environment. Assess whether Made2Manage can meet the company's scheduling requirements or whether an APS/finite-capacity scheduling solution is needed. Define requirements, evaluate potential scheduling tools, support vendor evaluations and recommend the right solution. Train users and establish sustainable ownership, governance and processes. Provide a roadmap for continued improvement across Gurnee, IL and ultimately Vista, CA. What We're Looking For Required: Hands-on experience configuring, implementing or optimizing a manufacturing ERP system. Strong experience with production planning, production scheduling and MRP/MPS. Experience with BOMs, routings, work centers, capacity, calendars, work orders and manufacturing master data. Experience diagnosing both ERP/system configuration and manufacturing process issues. Experience working directly with manufacturing operations, supply chain and IT. Strong background in discrete manufacturing, preferably make-to-order, engineer-to-order, job-shop or mixed-mode environments. Demonstrated ability to personally execute system/process changes, not simply make recommendations. Strongly Preferred: Direct Made2Manage / Aptean Made2Manage experience. Experience with APS, Advanced Planning & Scheduling, finite-capacity or constraint-based scheduling. Experience selecting, implementing or integrating scheduling solutions with an ERP. Experience with shop-floor execution, dispatching, work tickets or paperless manufacturing. ERP migration, data cleanup or master-data governance experience. Experience training users and establishing long-term process ownership. The Ideal Candidate: We're looking for someone who has actually taken a manufacturing organization through the process of understanding what's wrong, fixing the ERP/processes, implementing the solution and making it sustainable.
