About the role

Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering their questions, and assisting with product recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Direct customers to the appropriate products based on their needs.
• Build customer confidence through product knowledge and technical assistance.
• Perform sales counter functions including order entry, special orders, and price lookups.
• Accept and respond to telephone inquiries politely and provide the information sought.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales counter and selling area.
• Stock shelves with incoming product as necessary.
• Face and front product at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Notify regular customers about new products and upcoming store promotions.
• Use the CNRG Resource Center to submit instances of incorrect pricing, scanning issues, or product descriptions.
• Participate in store safety meetings and follow company safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Previous work experience in retail sales or customer service.
• Strong math, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Problem-solving ability and good organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of lumber, building materials, or general hardware merchandise.
• Able to lift and load merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. for various amounts of time, lift and load merchandise over six feet off the ground, climb a ladder, and maneuver safely at the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• This is an hourly position (non-exempt from overtime).
