Machinist Trainee - 2nd, 3rd or Weekend

About the role

Machinist Trainees will work closely with experienced machinists to learn the operation and set-up of a variety of machine tools. This role prepares individuals for a Machinist position by mastering essential skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Learn CNC machine operation, setup, and adjustment
• Use precision measuring devices
• Complete required paperwork
• Participate in on- and off-site training/education to facilitate trade knowledge
• Develop machining knowledge and skills
• Gain understanding of shop routings, materials, fixtures, tooling, and locations

Requirements

• Solid math skills and good mechanical aptitude
• Willingness to vary work hours to accommodate training
• Strong desire to become a top-notch, set-up machinist
• Stable education and/or employment history
• Background in industrial arts and manufacturing is preferred

Schedule

• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM or 3rd Shift (Sunday night start): 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• 1st shift training for approximately the first 4–6 months: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Limited availability for weekend shift: Friday – Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Pay

$19.72 – $29.59 per hour
