Machinist/Tool & Die

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work all three shifts
• Manual machining experience required
• Completes and passes a formal 6-month training program
• Follows written or verbal instructions, blueprints, and sketches
• Lays out work, builds and repairs tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and parts
• Builds and overhauls machinery
• Sets up and operates all tool room machines to specified tolerances
• Uses machinist's hand and power tools and measuring instruments
• Makes necessary mathematical calculations
• Performs welding, brazing, and heat-treating operations when required
• Works with operators and/or setup leads on installation of new setups and revised setups
