Duties And Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a variety of lathes and milling machines to manufacture precision components according to specifications and quality requirements.
- Adjust machine offsets and tooling as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Perform frequent machine setups in support of high-mix, low-volume production environments.
- Cross-train and operate additional machine tools as required to support production demands.
- Conduct basic machine maintenance, including changing fluids, filters, and performing routine equipment upkeep.
- Read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, job travelers, and other production documentation.
- Work from written and verbal instructions to complete machining operations accurately and efficiently.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety policies and 5S standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical training certificate in machining or equivalent work experience preferred.
- A minimum of 2–5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, indicators, and calipers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and process documentation.
- Understanding of both Metric and Imperial (English) measurement systems.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, cutting fluids, machining processes, and material properties preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime or extended hours as needed to meet production requirements.
